Good food, great location, amazing price – The Taw Restaurant at Petroc College may be run by students, but you wouldn’t know from the experiences I’ve had.
This walk embraces the beautiful North Devon Coast Path and rolling hills around the charming village of Berrynarbor. Beautiful, even on a cold winter’s day.
The Hickory Inn might be a fair trek from North Devon, but boy is it worth the journey. Awesome American smokehouse barbecue in a Devon village.
The Pelican Fish and Chip Restaurant and Takeaway offers delicious fish and chips in a welcoming setting, one of North Devon’s best.
The New Inn – a country pub just a few minutes from Barnstaple with a fantastic menu that you will deliberate over for hours. Oh and it’s delicious! Check it out.
The size of those sandwiches, the taste of those toasties, the cuteness of the crockery – lunch at Tea by the Taw is awesome.
Update 12.12.2015 – this cafe is no longer called Driftwood, I think it closed in 2022 or 2023. It is still a cafe now and is called Nellies Coffee Bar. It’s run by a charity that supports children to transition to adulthood, particularly those in the care system. No blog yet I’m afraid, but I would recommend.
A class act when it comes to the toasted sandwich and good for coffee, Driftwood Coffee Shop is a must for lunch in Barnstaple.
