A good Sunday roast is a British classic. It’s a wonderful comfort food but it also has a sense of occasion, and it’s at its best when shared with family or friends.
If you’re wondering where to find the best Sunday roast in (or near!) North Devon, lunch or dinner, I can highly recommend all of these pubs and restaurants.
Plated Sunday roast dinners
Sunday roasts can be extra special when they’re plated up and served all nicely for you. Here are some of my favourites.
The Pyne Arms, East Down
Best for? High-quality local ingredients and the best pork crackling I’ve ever had.

Fremington Quay Cafe
Best for? A casual and comforting roast dinner, with a great location that is close to Barnstaple but still feels like you’re getting back to nature. There is always a choice of three different mains, two meat one veggie option.
