Update 17.12.2025 – sadly the Chichester Arms closed in October 2025 as the company running it became insolvent. The plan is that this is temporary – everyone is hoping that someone new will come in and get the pub started again.
The Chichester Arms is all about good food and lots of it, and with a friendly pub atmosphere too. They might even do the best steak in North Devon.

Update 17.12.2025 – the Custom House closed in 2021 sadly, but the owner has a sister restaurant in town which has a slightly different concept (not customisation) but does delicious burgers, loaded fries and more. Try out the Bull and Bear instead if you think you would have liked this.
American food for a British palate is just what the doctor ordered. The Custom House prescribes beef burgers, chicken wings and very special chips.
Move aside takeaways and all-you-can-eat buffets, Han Court is proof that there is much more to love about Chinese food.
